1). Arriving at Varanasi Junction Railway Station (BSB):

Once you get off the train and come out of the railway station premises, turn right on the bustling street. At the following Y-intersection, exit the ‘highway’ to go into the city on the left. Then go past ‘Englishia Line crossing’ to get onto Vidyapeeth Road. About 300 m later look out for Gate #2 of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University (MGKVP), or just Vidyapeeth University, on your left-hand side. There should be a blue street sign in Hindi facing you, but its backside has English text. When you have reached the gate you will find a quiet alleyway on your right-hand side, directly opposite to the uni gate (close to Hotel Ashoka Grand). Get into the alleyway and look for a yellow iTh signage. We’re about 100 m into the alley on the left.

International Travellers’ Hostel is about 5-7 minutes walking distance from Varanasi Junction Railway Station. If you feel like you have walked too long – stop walking and turn around. You might have already walked past us.

Rickshaws, auto-rickshaws (tuk-tuks) and taxis are available just outside of the railway station. We recommend walking unless manoeuvring through the streets of Varanasi is a challenge you consider not worth taking.

2). Arriving at Manduadih Railway Station (MUV):

Exit the station and get a Tuk-Tuk to the above directed uni gate. It should cost roughly Rs.50-80.

3). Arriving at Mughal Sarai Junction Railway Station (MGS):

Exit the station and get a Tuk-Tuk or Taxi to the above directed uni gate. The Tuk-Tuk should cost roughly Rs.150-200 and the Taxi Rs.400-600. These two options are going to be the most convenient for you. Alternatively, you may also try to get a bus to Varanasi Bus Stand which is about 10 minutes walking distance from the hostel, or get a local train to Varanasi Junction Railway Station and then follow the above guided directions.

4). Arriving on a Bus:

You are brave for taking a bus! In this case you will most likely be dropped off either at Varanasi Bus Stand or in the vicinity of Varanasi Junction Railway Station. The best thing would be to find the train station and then follow the above directions.

5). If you’re flying into Varanasi:

Well, go past the baggage claim, then just before exiting the airport there are a couple of pre-paid Taxi booths on the left. You can get an AC Taxi for Rs.800. Tell the Taxi driver to bring you to Gate #2 of Vidyapeeth University.

We also offer a pick-up service for Rs.1,600. If you’ve booked a transfer with us, then please just exit the airport terminal. Our staff will be waiting for you with a placard.

6). Arriving on a Boat?

Haha, no kidding – it’s quite possible (at least from nearby cities like Allahabad). This is very unlikely to happen, but just in case you do arrive on a boat, let us know and in honour of your adventurous spirit we’ll pick you up for free! Make sure to de-board at Assi Ghat.
